The 'Brass Series' was intended to test our creativity as well as our ability to work with a variety of raw materials to their fullest potential. We recently sourced some exceptionally limited Black Bean from Australia, particularly known for the toxicity of the tree’s fruit seeds. This particular deck bares a two-veneer bookmatch to showcase its contrasting tones, transitioning from dark coffee brown heartwood to golden yellow sapwood. We chose to accompany the golden brown hue of the wood with a seamless brass inlay. Black Bean’s interlocking grain and oily nature pairs particularly well with our in-house finish blend of Tung oil and harvested beeswax.
